I am a Claflin University sophomore who pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Mathematics. I am a member of Claflin Honors College and Students Support Services Math Tutor. My accumulative GPA is 4.0.
Experience
I have nurtured a passion in Mathematics since I was a child. Crunching number always seems to spark an interest in me, especially the excitement every time I was able to solve a challenging problem by myself. This is one of the reasons why I decide to pursue a minor in Mathematics in college. I also challenge myself to more difficult courses offered in college such as Calculus I and II. To consolidate my interest in Math, I participate in tutoring activity at Freshman College and Student Support Service. As a student who have a strong background in Mathematics, I understand how pivotal the fundamentals in algebra, especially trigonometry mean to college students. However, other tutors tend to forget the fact that learning anything is extremely challenging when someone is forced to do it. Studying math is not an exception. Therefore, I always try to find the exciting and joyful approaches to math problems in order to make their learning experience more fun. I believe with my interest and experience in teaching mathematics in college, I will be able to contribute tremendously to University Tutor Community and help make math a better learning experience as it should be.
